Wanna see what 4hrs, one green model, one makeup artist, 11 bikinis, a nice day on the beach, me, my camera, a couple portable flash lights, and abso--lutely zero planning can yield?
If you were wondering who shot the Beachbeat ad, and came up with the copy. Wonder no longer... Hands up, it was me.
I was down stairs in the studio's cafe ordering coffee, and noticed a piano had been dismantled. 1 hour later, I had made this (procrastinating again).
Shot in Barbados during March this year. You can see it in print in this months issue of surfgirl - Issue 22.
Issue 23 out soon. Here's a video montage from the shoot / some squares out of the old Yashica / and some digital, behind the scene snapshots. Look out for the selected edit in the forthcoming issue which will be distributed to the UK, America & Australia. Visit surfgirlmag.co.uk for more info.
Here's an insight into the process of creating an advertising image to brief. I've included the concept sketch, brief, final reworked ad, and the unedited selection I submitted to the client.
