Frenech Soler were so good it was hard to comprehend. Grum flew in and stepped straight into his set like a superstar DJ. A bouncer had his nose broke. I – along with everybody else – lost 3 pounds in sweat. Everybody went home in a little rowing boat and that’s that.

Summary. Unorthadox head crop for a hair comp, however…It was the strongest overall capture. Will be interesting to see how she fares with the international judging panel. Could be easily to dismissed if they’re looking for reasons, but I’m optimistic they will fall in love with the depth.

Sam and Will are identical twins. One’s really creative, the other is really organised. Together they run an award winning Cornish based design consultancy, who specialise in problem solving. I am often asked to capture finished works which then go on to represent them over a multi media platform including their website and various design and interior publication, and national press.

Here are a few of their recent solutions for a client list including the NHS, National Trust and The Eden Project.

I was also asked to take a few shots of their new play pen (design studio).

The first project featured was commissioned by the National Trust and can be found on a 3 mile stretch of woodland which runs along side Loe Bar, Nr Porthleven, Cornwall. Named the Green Gym, this is surely worth rolling out across the planet. I want one near me please.

NHS Longreach dementia ward in Barcoose, Redruth.
Since the implementation of Boex’s refurbishment, staff have recorded a remarkable reduction in stress related behaviour from the residents and general elevated levels of well being.

Initially I was commissioned to shoot a panoramic Mine-scape. This comprised of 10 portrait images stitched together to produce a highly detailed enlargement. Which features on a once bland wall (see below). I was then brought in to photograph the finished interior.

The champagne reception fund-raiser auction took place at the Carlyon Bay Hotel Golf Club, and was honoured by the presence of the charismatic guest speaker Simon Weston OBE.

Help for Heroes shouldn’t have to exist. Another reminder of the state of our mismanaged country. But that aside, It was refreshing to learn that this charity is manned by volunteers who do not get paid, it’s expenses are covered by it’s corporate wing, and they issue money to people who need/deserve it with-in 48hrs of a request. All of the money donated goes to the service personnel who have been left to fend for themselves. None of it is lost in admin or ‘expenses’. Seems like the complete opposite of all we are used to. Wish they would stand for election as well…

The launch of id make-up’s product line at the web-shop ‘Everything4hair” took place at the One Eyed Cat,  Truro City’s only bar & brasserie.

After the models had been dulled up by the Make-up Man from London Town, who incidentally, wore a very impressive belt buckle.  I thought it would be a waste not to take advantage of the situation and took to the streets of Truro for a few inpromtu poses. Clothing courtesy of Coco Marie, Truro.

Thanks to all of the passers by for the comments and honks. You guys were all really witty and your advice about the tripod was indispensable… I’ve got an idea, you should all get a digital slr and start a pro photography business on the side… Oh you have. I’ll get my coat.

Tech talk:

Decided to video and shoot it simultaneously through the monitor. It was the first time I have worked in this way. Worked out great thanks to a good team, good tunes, sweets, and coffee.

Gear: 5dII armed with the Magic Lantern firmware, Small HD monitor, Rhode Stereo Mic, Sigma 50mm 1.4 and the Cinevate DSLR rig + follow focus, Sachtler DV6 tripod.  Lit using a custom made ring light.

It was a year ago since I last photographed this band of merry adolescents.

They asked if I could take a photo for their new demo disk. I also designed their logo/ cd/poster/A4 flyer template.

Graphically I tried to go with a grindhouse/skateboard feel.
